My pleasure. I am trying different EV settings and comparing the results. Interesting how the picture changes.
But I am also looking into the FZ35/38. I really like the higher picture quality of the Panasonic processing. And one can add filters to that camera. Last edited by mamuco; Apr 5, 2010 at 11:27 PM. |

Tonight I have an HX5 Sunset for you. The photo has not been post processed. It has only been re-sized and cropped.

Here I used the in camera sharpening feature available when reviewing pictures. See before and after picture.
Its a bit cumbersome as each picture has to be done individually. Can Photoshop or Photo Impact do that sharpening as a batch file maybe? |

The sharpening centers on a square in the middle of the picture it looks like.

Well finally took the plunge and bought the HX-5. Been playing around with the camera the last two days to get familiar with some of the features.
To take macro shots what's the best way? The manual says to put it on scene (food) is that the best format? The camera seems to do good in low light situations at least it's a far improvement from my old one. Also to prevent anti shake how do you set that...is it possible? I already programed it for active selection under the movie mode in menu. Is there something I need to do for still pictures? |

Mamuco,
I believe photoshop can sharpen a batch of files. But I have not used it in a very long time. Got uses to using aperture.

It is always on and cannot be turned off. Active mode will kick it up a notch. Note that IS isn't without its costs to IQ however.

Hello,
I have a question, it is about the quality of the lenses of sony TX7 and sony hx5v, first one is Carl Zeiss, the second one is serie G of sony. I see the quality of TX7 photos and I am thinking maybe the hx5v is the new soft images wx1 only with more tricks, really I need your opinions to decide. My favourites cameras are at the moment: Ricoh CX3 but not Manual controls Casio FH100, without reviews, but deal breaker for me not zoom in videos. Lumix ZS3, without Manuals controls Lumix ZS7, not brilliant IQ reviews, very basic Low Light iQ for the prize and my favorite: Sony Hx5v and now also TX7, Any personal opinions about these cameras? How is iQ TX7 vs Hx5v? Thanks and sorry for my bad English, I speak better Spanish :P Antonio |

Antonio-
Welcome to the Forum and to the Sony P+S folder. We're delighted that you dropped by. The image quality provided by the Sony TX-7 and the HX-5 are very good. In this same folder look for the photos posted by DonalDuc who uses a Sony TX-7 camera. There are almost 130 phots and they are all very good. Our thread, "First Impresssions of the HX5" was started a good deal later, as the TX-7 was introduced first and the HX5 did not arrive on dealer's shelves here in the USA until the last week of March. We will continue to post more and more photos from the HX5 on this thread. Sarah Joyce |
