I finally read that. It's unbelievable. I mean, if things are going at this rate, then all the smaller manufacturers will be absorbed by the giants and I think that's not necessarily a god thing.
And Konica Minolta! They have some wondeful models! It's a sad thing indeed this is happening.

I agree that it is sad to see the end of KM, but it really may not be that bleak. Sony will continue the KM lens mount, so who knows what lens may become available to owners of the KM dSLR's. It would be VERY interesting if Sony produced some Zeiss T* lenses in the KM mount!!!

The K-M 5D and 7D are really good cameras. The prices of the remaining retail stocks will begin to fall in the next several weeks. Personally I see it as a buying opportunity.

I really like the Sony R-1 camera. However, I believe that the prices of the K-M 5d, for example, will fall much much faster than the Sony R-1.
