Has anyone used the VCL-MHG07A or the VCL-HGD0758 lenses for Sony 7*7 cameras? I've been lent the MHG07A (can't zoom with this lens in situ) but would like to hear of any experiences with the higher end lens. Any opinions/suggestions would be gratefully received!

Make sure you go into the camera menu and set the camera to use the wide angle lens other wise the camera will not focus correctly.

I have both of the higher end lenses and like them a lot especially the W/A. I never change the menu for this lens as it will zoom and gives excellent results in framing shots. These lenses are VERY heavy however and you might not care for them for that reason. To me tho the quality is worth the price and the weight.

Ditto for me. I have the Sony VCL-HGD0758 and consider it excellent. No need to set on menu. Zooms perfectly all the way out. On a trip to Italy this year, I left it on most of the day. Very quickly got used to handling by lense barrel. Recently started doing some interiors and it is a boon!
Bought it on ecost.com for $200.00. Wouldn't be without this one. Joe Field |
