Hello, All:

This is Crisanto, a very hard working, but usually dour groom who looks after 35 thoroughbreds on a large South Texas ranch. He doesn't speak English, but I imagine it's possible he's never seen snow before. It is uncommon here, and a very rare event in the part of Mexico where he is from.

I got really tickled over his reaction. In eleven years, this is the first time I've heard him laugh out loud. This proves that no matter how tough the exterior, there is always a child below the surface, just waiting for an invitation to come out & play ...

Brrrrrrrrr ... stay warm, hug somebody you love! :) Ria

(P.S. If you'd like to see more from this series, I posted two more over on the Critique forum.)

This looks like a reaction which has taken years to arrive ... like the snow.

Come to think of it, if the weather is as exuberant as he is, then California will be covered!

Lovely picture

:) Glyn

I would sell it to Rueters or AP, someone.

This image has a few thousand more words than the thousand word kind.

Great capture, great moment, perfect focus too!!!

That really is a wonderful shot Ria. How fun to see him come alive with this unusual event of snow. Thanks for posting this.

Very nice shot Ria. It really captures the moment and tells a story. We had two inches of snow out of the same system here in Abilene but it's not that uncommon here.
