Last night at a Xmas concert I found myself in dire need of enhanced zoom capability for my 717.
Wondering what folks here have done to boost that capability? Considered buying the Sony brand 1.7X telephoto lens but can't justify the $220+ price in light of how little I'd actually use it. My use tends to be occasional, maybe once a month and my photos are strictly amauter/family related. Do I go for the off-price Digital Optics lens? Are they acceptable quality. Or do I NEED to go $200-plus to get aceptable quality. Thanks! |

Hi,
don't buy products from Digital Optics ... bad quality! A very good tele for the F717 is TCON-17 from Olympus. Here in germany i get it for 109 |

Hi pupaklain
i don't know if you can use the TCON-17 at your V1. The TCON-17 weight ~250g and maybe too heavy for the V1? In any case you need a stepup ring from 52mm -> 55mm the TCON have a 55mm screw thread. amazon.de have a kit with VCL-DEH17V + adaptor maybe you can order it from spain? http://www.amazon.de/exec/obidos/ASI...995012-5206408 |
