A Tough Decision: Minolta A1 or Sony 828...How 'bout a poll

So, today I finally went on-line after several weeks of a disconnected service and my heart leaped when I recieved news of the Sony 828 REVIEW. Well, little did I know I was in for a big disappointment at dpreview.com and an average opinon of the camera on dcresource.com. It worked up to be something it's not and I feel like I wasted so much time with it. Is it really that bad? Steve liked the camera a lot, so why does it seem like the 828 has recieved such scrutinizing judgemnt?
My question to you is how it might compare to the A1. Both cameras have their issues, but is there one tha could come out on top. Maybe I should just wait till PMA...nah
What's your opinion on a decision or any of this for that matter?
