Hi,
I am new to digital cameras. Recently bought a W5. Can anyone tell me possible reason why this camera has a power adapter which has to be pushed into the battery compartment ? It means you have to take out the batteries every time you have to use the adapter. Also, what is the function of the side contact on the adapter ? It seems to make contact with a small strip inside the battery compartment. regards, Sugata |

If the power adapter is the same or similar to the adapter used in the H series then....
I believe the side contact is the negative contact, ie it uses the same positive contact the battery uses but does not use the negative contact the battery would.. |
