Hi,

I was wondering why the color balance in Thumbnail views with Adobe CS and Thumbs Plus looks so bad in RAW and RAW and JPEG? Both pieces of software give the same bad color rendition. Working views are more normal. I also noticed this problem only occures when there is very little green color in the picture, (over water).

Is it my camera or Adobe and Thumbs Plus together? I shoot in Adobe mode,

KM 7D.

How did you have the camera's white balance set?

An incorrect White Balance setting would be my first suspect if you're seeing those kinds of problems in more than one image browser.

I used auto white balance. - Perhaps a calibration would have helped. Thanks.

Auto is not normally that bad. So, it could be something else.

I have seen Auto WB give problems shooting over water before though.

What seems strange is the same exact photo in JPEG and RAW look so different in thumbnails but in working size they look fine. Also on the camera post viewer they look good.

My tidea , if the picture is good and the camera display is goodthen the photo must be good. The viewer and working size in Adobe CS and Thumbs plus are also good. It has to do with the way Adobe and Thumbs looks at the file and creates the thumbnail. Perhaps it is in the file information in the Embedded Adobe RGB file. The *.THM file is not processed in the thumbnail view but is in the working file.

Does this seem logical?

You may be right. I don't know why there would be that much difference unless the browsers are ignoring the color space for the thumbnails but not for the full size images.

What's confusing to me is that the jpeg and jpe files both look off in your thumbnails, and color space shouldn't have *that* much impact on the way they look from a color accuracy perspective.

I usually shoot sRGB and I don't usually pay that much attention to thumbnails anyway, though.

I'd have to test shooting it multiple ways to see.
