I have (non AF) lenses for my old Minolta X370. Will they work in the KM digital SLRs?

Only with a sometimes expensive and hard to find adapter.

I've got a brother-in-law with a nice collection of lenses for his SRT-101. So far, I've resisted the temptation of buying an adapter so that I could borrow some of them. Of course, I'd proabably buy one of the third party focus screens and install it, too. ;-)

If I were going to buy an adapter, I'd probably go with one with less magnification (the original Minolta MC/MD to Maxxum Adapter had the equivalent of a 2X TC built in).

If you use one without optical elements, you won't be able to focus to infinity using an adapter.

But, there are some third party adapters with less magnfication (and resulting loss of light) available on the market. Some KM DSLR owners are using adapters with 1.2 to 1.4x magnification (so loss of light would be far less than the2 stops you'd losewith theMinolta adapter).

Here is a 7 page forum thread where you may find some useful information, discussing pros and cons of both TCs and Adapters.

I've got some lenses but I'm not sure I want to try manual focus with my 7D. Maybe if it had the splitscreen.
