Okay so I've had the 7D for a week or two now. I've been picking it up and playing with all the settings, getting used to flipping the dials and knobs on the go. (I hope I never have to go back to a menu driven camera) Seems to me that my 5D did a little better on the power management side. Not that I'm complaining, I've got 4 batteries so if the price I have to pay for the benefits of the 7D is fewer shots per battery then so be it.

Any of you with both bodies noticed the same?

Ken, I play around with both of mine, and I haven't noticed that. Some things I have done is turn off the instant playback and cut down the time on other screens. BTW, I saw yesterday that B&H had the KM batteries for $19.99. Don't know if they still have them, but that's getting down to clone prices.
