A77 w/Kenko 1.4TC

Took this shot this afternoon playing with the TC and was impressed.
Using my 70-200mm F2.8 G lens and the Kenko on a tripod and using autofocus. (it works just fine)
With this combo, I used the in camera magnifier @ 2x for an equiv. 600mm lens shot.

Also tried it with my 70-400mm and had very similar results. This gives us A77 users some serious reach.

Comments welcome.

In general, 1.4X TCs tend to be pretty good, or rather, not too bad. The cheap 2X TCs can do some serious damage to image quality, though.

A 1.4X TC will add a stop to the maximum aperture of a lens, which would make your 70-400mm f/4-5.6 into a f/5.6-8.0, which is too small a maximum aperture for autofocus from about 300mm on up. That is, unless your TC doesn't make it's presence known.

Not something I would normally use but nice to know it works if an opportunity arrises.

Here is the 70-400mm using the same setup. Auto focus did pretty good for 1200mm.
