Hello everyone,

Can I use my Minolta manual lenses on Sony A100? I read Pentax K100D supports all the lenses produced by Pentax including manual lenses. Is it the case with A100?, if not, is there any chance of Sony making it possible in the future?

Sony has no reason to make a converter for 20 year old Minolta manual focus (MC/MD)lenses. However, there is such an animal already in existence, and made by Minolta. I don't remember the part number, but they are still available from a few dealers and on eBay.

This could be what you're after. Bid ends 10th Sept at just before 7pm UK time.

will there be any drawbacks as to using a converter like the one above, Manual focus to AF mounts??

I think with any kind of mount (MD to AF, Minolta bodyto Canon/Nikon lens, reversing ringetc) is you lose all the data and may only be able to use manual controls only i.e. no auto focus, shutter speed and aperture.
