I've checked Canadian, British, US, and HongKong distributers - none of them have a hood for this lens. www.lenshoods.co.uk doesn't have a printable hood for this lens.

Does anybody here know of a good place to look?

I'm wondering if I can buy a screw-on lens-hood and machine the petals as necessary. Not having seen a lens-hood that uses the filter threads, I'm concerned that the hood mount itself will interfere with the optics.

Has anybody every tried to make their own hood - especially for a wide angle?

when I need a hood, I look to Ebay and to my local camera shop who can almost always find something that will work. Ebay is usually a bit cheaper but you do run the risk that you won't get what you intended to buy.

I've never tried to fabricate a hood, with used hoods costing around $10 it doesn't really seem worth the trouble.
