Not always. When I shot with APS-C A-mount bodies two of my favorite lens where the Tamron 17-50 f/2.8 and the Rokinon 8mm fisheye. For a crop sensor at that time the Tamron was the best A-mount zoom in that range. Now Sony has the 16-50 f/2.8. I only used that lens once so I don't have enough experience to give a review but I'm pretty sure it's at least as good as the Tamron. The only Sigma lens I have experience with is the 150mm macro. That was an excellent lens no matter what you compared it to. http://forums.steves-digicams.com/so...2-8-macro.html http://forums.steves-digicams.com/so...date-a550.html http://forums.steves-digicams.com/so...first-try.html Beercan, I wished I could have used my beercan with a FF. I sold it to a guy in Australia before I got my FF. But I replaced the beer can with the Sony 70-200 so I really can't complain. http://forums.steves-digicams.com/so...s-beercan.html Thank You Vaske.
