I recently acquired this lens even though the Dynax ratings were on the low side. After a week of using it I feel that it's a darn good walk around and very sharp at all focal lengths and f stops. I do not have the adaptall version as mine was made expressly for the Minolta Maxxum series of cameras. Do any of you happen to have experience with this lens? I think that it was a great find for $50.00.

Tamron makes some very good lenses. I don't have that one, but I bought the 28-300 a few years ago. It too is sharp at all focal lengths and f stops. It stays on my camera most of the time. You got a great deal.

It's hard to go wrong for $50. Good luck with it.

Thanks to all for your comments. I have found that 28mm f.l. wide open is not quite as sharp as at one stop up. I like more D.O.F. so I rarely shoot any lens wide open.

Street,
$50 for a walking around lens is a really good deal. I am sure you will find a lot of use for it. Good luck shooting! I have a cheap Sigma 70-300mm F/4-5.6 DL Macro. Kind of slow in focusing and hunts a bit in low light. I bought it form Ebay for $40 shipped. Here are some indoor test shots with my Sony A200, 1/125, F/8, bounce flash with a Sony HVL-F42AM. What do you think? Is it worth $40?

For $50, yeah that's worth it as long as it works.
WCKSer, looks sharp enough for me. I'd say that a well spent $40. I've had good experiences with all the Tamron lenses I've used.

WCKser, if you need to sell that Sigma, send me a private message. That thing is really nice.
