was just reading something in dyxum

with my 5D and tamron 28-300, would i get wrong metering with the settings on adi flash

No, the 5D should automatically default to TTL if you don't have a D lens mounted. Try a comparison test to be certain.

Remember when a flash was pretty simple device with just a couple of settings?

I'm sure it is for the better but it seems things have gotten so complicated with all these acronyms we got to know and what works with what and when. Maybe I'm just getting old.

Yes, I remember, and I know I am getting old.

On the subject of flash, many complain about the no-standard KM hot shoe, but I saw a lot of bellyaching the other day from Canon and Nikon owners because their flash was wobbly even when they tightened it down with a death grip. Makes the quick relase button nice, doesn't it?
