Hello, I am new to the DSLR world so please bear with me. I recently purchased a Sony Alpha 100 with an 18-70mm kit lens. I also have a Sony DSC-W7 point-and-shoot camera. I must admit that I am disappointed with the pictures taken with my Alpha. I assume that it is lens related. All of my pictures, although not out of focus, do appear "soft" in comparison with the same scene taken with the DSC-W7. Any ideas? I can't afford Ziess lenses so, what would be a good replacement lens?

Thanks

It could be a number of things. It would help if you posted a sample.

My kit lens is surprisingly sharp! I've got some pictures posted that I took with mine in another thread.

Here is the thread http://www.stevesforums.com/forums/v...mp;forum_id=84
