I've only played a little with it. I had ordered the Tamron and Adorama sent me the Sigma.

So far I'm extremely happy with it. And for $149 I think it was a good deal the lens looks brand new has the box, manual, and the case. It doesn't have the lens cap though So I need to find a 77 MM lens cap.

It is a little loud focusing but I'm seeing on several reviews that it is a little noisy. I haven't had a chance to really give it a good test.

Does anyone else have this lense? What do you think of it? I've got 7 days to decide if I'm going to keep it or send it back.

Right now I think it's staying

I want to buy this lens. Could you post some tests and comments once you have chance to use it?

Thanks in advance!!

I sure will! I'm hoping to get out Saturday for a little if it's not to bitter cold. It's 17 right now

If I can't get out I'll just take some pictures in the house

It's heavy I will give it that!

BTW, any one know where I can get a 77 mm lens cap without paying $10 or $15 ?

It's pretty tough to get a lens cap for under $10, but sometimes I have luck going down to the camera shop and picking through their used ones. (there is normally a bin/bag of front caps, one of rear caps, and one ofbody caps)I'd suspect a 77mm one would be a bit more expensive than say a 49mm which I'd expect to pay $5-7 for a generic or $10-12 fora Minolta brand one. The shipping would kill you on Ebay, unless you could find a seller that had other stuff you wanted and combined shipping.

Oh you poor thing I'm so sorry you lost your lens! I'm glad you were able to at least replace it with something you are happy with. I think I would be in the funny farm if something like that happened to me

Minoltanut check your PM's please :G

Great set up! Want to pass the lenses this way LOL!

M Santos here is a picture I took at work under florescent lights. I think it's looks pretty good. Settings:
  • Focal length: 70.0mm (35mm equivalent: 105mm)[/*]
  • Exposure time: 0.0080 s (1/125)[/*]
  • Aperture: f/2.8[/*]
  • ISO equiv.: 320[/*]
  • Whitebalance: Manual[/*]
  • Metering Mode: matrix[/*]
  • Exposure: aperture priority (semi-auto)[/*]
