After loosing my absolutely like new 7D to precision because of a broken autofocus charge that they could not fix... I bought one off EBAY. It apperas to be in great shape... but we will see when it gets here.

My wife thinks Im nuts for selling the SOny Alpha I bought while on vacation to replace the broken 7D.

She just doesnt understand that even though the 7D is a discontinued item with no support... its still better than the alpha.

I hope that your replacement 7D works out well for you.

The A100 is my first digital camera so I know very little about the 7D. I'm just curious why you prefer the 7D so strongly over the A100?

The A100 is more compareable to the Maxxum 5D. It does not have the control accessibility of the 7D.

I was able to access the functions I needed to get to faster with the 7D compared to the Sony.

Congrats on the bold move - I have heard good things of the legendary 7D and it breaks my heart every time i hear one that cannot be fixed.

Gratz on picking up another 7D. I hope it lasts you until the newly announced additions to the Sony line hit the market. Personally I just don't have the guts to buy a 7D. I'm hoping that Sony will release the high amateur model before the pro (pro would probably be out of my budget).
