Definitly good news.

Sony hadn't planned on the memory stick being proprietary; they just couldn't get anybody else to buy into it. Even so, I was not looking forward to a Sony dSLR that used memory sticks.

And besides, Compact Flash is the cheapest flash memory available (cost/megabyte) and the cheapest to integrate into a device (digicam or whatever.) That keeps our costs down.

Konica did (even before Konica and Minolta merged).

They had a line of compact digital cameras capable of using either Secure Digital or Memory Stick (dual card slots). Examples would be the Konica KD-310z, KD-400z, KD-410z, KD-500z and KD-510z.

The Minolta G500 (same as Konica KD-510z) also had the same dual card slots (MS and SD), as did the newer Konica Minolta G600 and G400).

I have a Konica KD-510z, and I keep both Memory Stick and Secure Digital in it.

Oh but I can see it already.

You're having problems getting your CF Card to work? Is it a Sonyor 3rd Party Card? I'm sorry sir but we only guarantee that Sony CF Cards will work
