i recently saw an 8 x 10 photo mounted on wood with whatlooks like a heavy varnish covering the picture

can any one help me to find out how this is done

it a two part epoxy...it was big in the 70s

be warned..don't try to use it on paper..it will make the paper clear and you will see the back of the paper if anything is writen..and the woodgrain
