Will the Wein Safe-Sync Hot Shoe to Hot Shoe High Voltage Sync Regulator work with the Sony Alpha dSLR?

Thank you.

What are you trying to accomplish (specifically, what flash are you trying to mount)?

The DSLR-A100 uses a non-standard hotshoe. So, no, you can't directly mount a Wein Safe-Sync in your hotshoe.

But, there are third party alternatives available (including an inexpensive adapter to convert the hotshoe to an ISO standard hotshoe).

Steve,

Thank you for your reply.

I am setting up a portrait system using two old Bowens 10000 monolites. I am planning on using a remote photocell trigger plugged into the 2nd strobe to trigger after the first strobe goes off via the sync cable plugged into the Sony.

I am hesitant to plug the strobe directly into the camera. The Bowens 10000 is quite old, and I am afraid that it may harbor some very voltage at the jack. The strobe is from "way back when" before digital camera circuitry was not even a consideration.

(I am also using a Canon XTi).

Thanks for any help that you might be able to provide.
