The loose lens mount on my A100 has been irritating me for a while. It seems that I'm not alone. I came across this thread today:

http://www.dyxum.com/dforum/forum_po...15451&PN=1

I'll be checking this tonight when I get home from work. Anyone else here noticed this problem?

I guessI should know better - noting is ever as simple as you think. I checked the screws mentioned in the Dyxum thread - they are all tight. On closer examination it's actually the locking pin that is causing the loose lens fit on my A100. It actually rocks in the lens mount allowing the lens to move quite a bit. I compared it to my Maxxum 7000 and my daughter's Maxxum 7. The two Maxxums are about the same allowing just a small amount of lens movement. The Sony feels quite sloppy by comparison. Maybe I lucked out with manufacturing tolerances.

Anyone else notice this problem?

You are not alone...and here I thought it was just sloppy build from sony.
I pull my alpha out and I feel a shake in the lens like its not attached well to the camera body. - so of course Im careful, and dont notice it much, except when I initially take it out of the case...

so, yes...its not snug at all...felt 'cheap'.
Not sure the fix, but after I read some horror stories of botched 'home' repairs...I will wait to go to a sony service center...not that they will do anythin if they are selling the cameras like that.

peace
