Ya we mean minolta 50mm f/1.7. It is cheap - great for portraits.

Have fun with the kit. It has its limitations but overall it is VERY sharp and has good color saturation. With post-processing images are even better.

I may switch to a tamron17-50mm but i am satisfied with my current set-up. Besides, with most shots outdoors the kit lens acts like a very expensive lens
