Thanks for the shots. I've been eyeing this lense to go along with my 70-200. I figure my legs can make up the hole I'll have from 55 - 70.

Waiting to see if Sony will announce one at PMA. Seems that the Sony (and Minolta before them) versions are just a tad better than the Tamron versions

I don't know of any other lenses in this range that are as bright and as sharp.

Sony has the 16-105, but it's f/3.5-4.5 (and costs a lot more). Sony also has the24-105, but it's also f/3.5-4.5. Sigma has the 18-50/2.8 but it seems not to be as good.

Thank you, DigitalGal!

Virginia's Northern Neck is very picturesque.

I see that you're planing to get a Panasonic K10D and an appropriate lens. Tamron just announced that this lens will be available with a Pentax mount, so you might consider it. I'm very pleased with it.

Yes, Tom.. from what I can see here, it doesn't stay in your camera bag at all.. I have to learn a lot again.. my experience in photography is zero, if lenses are considered.. I just love to learn! I am studying again.. But I am getting closer and closer to dSLR..

Enjoy the weekend!

Good luck to both of you! I'm sure you'll like yours as much as I like mine!
