I just saw this on SONY's website, I think it can be used to connect the studio flash light to the A100 and 5D, anyone have any thought?

Minolta also had an adapter available with voltage protection built in for PC Sync Port attached strobes. Their PCT-100 provided the same funtionality.

I've got a third party adapter that has both an ISO standard hotshoe and a PC Sync Port built in for a lot less money.

But, the adapter I use does not have any voltage protection built in. So, you'd need to make sure it's only used with strobes that have a lower trigger voltage (around 6 volts would be a good idea). Otherwise, you should use something like a Wein Safe Sync with it to provide protection.

Radio triggers are another option you could use with this type of inexpensive adapter.
