That's a great price, but even at a 'Buy It Now' price of $799, that's too rich for my blood. I'll just keep looking for the f/2.0's.

EDIT: The Tamron 90mm f/2.5 is gone.

I just happened upon a situation where a good 90mm f/2.5 probably would have been perfect.

Next time I'll keep my mouth shut (and my fingers still,) and just buy it.

Just thought I'd share this one. Took this during our anniversary dinner last week.

lens Mino 28 f/2 hand held

1/40"

f/2

Aperture Priority

ISO 800

PP Photoshop elements 4, adjust lighting (shadows/highlights). Adjust color (levels), some USM then ran it through noisware (no exif).

One of my favorite lenses.

Notice that, whenever someone talks about a favorite lens, they're never talking about an f/3.5-something.

Obviously people around here have very discerning tastes! After using a few primes I notice that the zooms don't do it for me anymore. The only notable exceptions being the Tamron 17-50 and the Beercan. I just wish I had the budget for more primes.

Yes FrankD, anyone who has been fortunate enough to use a good prime should know the benefits of their capabilities. But a good fast zooms alsohave the potential tobe more useful inmost instances. Just like your Tamron 17-50.The beercan although not a 2.8 is still a favorite amongst mostowners.

And TCav your right. Everybodys favorite lens from what I see is no slower then 2.8
