Hi to you all,

It seems to me that the Sony DSLR A 700 is indeed a fantastic photographic tool.

Does anybody know the price of the camera in the Philippines where it is not yet
available?

Thanks in advance for your replies.

Regards,
xer2004

No. But, it will probably be approximately double (2x) what the A100 is selling for there.

For example, in the U.S., the DSLR-A100 sells for $699.95 from sonystyle.com. The DSLR-A700 sells for $1,399.99 from sonystyle.com (approximately twice as much).

Hi JimC,

Thanks for your reply.

I not only wonder that the camera is not yet available in this country but I also cannot understand why Sony's website in the Philippines only mentions the A 100
as their only DSLR.

IMHO, there must be something wrong in the marketing department.

Greetings to Georgia (USA)!!

It's very new, and so supply is going to be limited. Sony in the Phillipines may not have received any cameras yet (or they may have received a small quantity and don't want to list it until getting more).

Very few stores in the U.S. have received shipments yet. For example, http://www.bhphotovideo.com just got some A700 kits in. But, they still haven't received any body only shipments.

Hello JimC,

I understand. So people just have to wait.

By the way, I'm sorry for answering you so late but because of a major cabel cut in our region I could not use our phone/PC for some time.

It should show up in more regions very soon. I'm sure they're rolling off the production lines as fast as possible.

JimC,

I forgot to ask you this:

I read somewhere that Sony's new zoom lens 16-105mm will be available at the earliest in Spring 2008.

Can you confirm that?

It should be available sooner than that. Sony in the U.S. is currently showing an expected ship date of November 23, 2007 for the Sony DSLR-A700P kit that includes the 16-105mm f/3.5-5.6 Lens

Sonystyle.com listing for the Sony DSLR-A700P (Sony DSLR-A700 + 16-105mm f/3.5-5.6 Autofocus Lens)
