Hi to everybody,

Believe it or not: On October 30, 2007 I got the Sony A 700 in the Philippines
with the DT 18-250 mm zoom lens!!

In my personal opinion, the camera is very light and quite easy to hold.

The LCD is fantastic and you simply cannot imagine how sharp it is even in harsh
sunlight.

Will try to share with you some pictures in a couple of days from now.

Regards,
xer2004

Congratulations!

Let us know how you like that combination.

I'm hearing that Sony used different gearing for the Autofocus in the 18-250mm lens compared to the Tamron version, and it focuses about twice as fast (far less screw turns to change focus).

It should be a good match to the new focus motor in the A700 body.

Hi JimC,

Thanks for your reply.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to answer your earlier.

So far I'm very impressed by the combination A 700 + 18-250 mm zoom lens which IMHO focuses really fast.

I play a lot with my new "toy" and if the time is ripe I'll certainly share with you all some images.

Best wishes,
