Has the release be postponed? I am seeing the A200, A350, and A700 everywhere but not the A300.

I would love to find one with body only.

I think that the A350 is available without a lens, but not the A300.

http://www.sonystyle.com has been shipping them (they're in stock). They don't sell the A300 as a body only yet (only a kit).

Where are they shipping them to?
I have yet to see one in a retail store, including Samy's, Circuit City, Best Buy, Ritz.

Also, will you be doing a review soon?

Am thinking of upgrading from the A-100 but need some reviews and something to look at first.

Thanks.

The A350 starting shipping first. But, it looks like the A300 is just beginning to hit some of the dealers in the past few days.

For example, http://www.bhphotovideo.com and http://www.jr.com now show the Sony DSLR-A300K in stock.

I don't know. From a features and image quality perspective, it's going to be the same as the A200. With the A300, you also get a tilting LCD with Live View. Just keep in mind you'll have a smaller optical viewfinder if you go with a Live View model like A300 or A350, compared to the viewfinder in the A100 or A200. Tradeoffs.

Thanks for the quick response Jim. I had not thought about the reduced view finder size. That does make sense but live view, the tilting LCD, higher ISO, the built in 1.4/2.0 zoom, and the remote might make it a worthwhile trade up situation.

I still want to see one first and see how it feels/compares to the A-100.

You can probably find the A350 in stock at a store somewhere if you want to take a look at things like ergonomics and viewfinder differences with the live view models.

The A300 shouldn't take too much longer before it's on more shelves, too (since I see some vendors showing stock now).

Yes... they made the optical viewfinder smaller because they had to make room for the separate live view sensor. That's the only downside I see to it over the A200.

Circuit City's web site is showing the A300 in stock now, too. So, you may want to try a local store to see if they have them on the shelves yet.

Thanks for the heads up Jim. I'll call them and see if they have it.
