Is Tamron the only one who is selling a wide range lens for Sony? Until now there is no brighter and such lens with a wide view... Any minolta versions that will serv as well for wide outside pictures or big group photo shoots?

Edit: Or even wider versions =) like 10 mm , 11 mm etc etc

Thanks!

Here are a few zooms. Most starting out that wide are going to be f/4 or f/4.5 on their wider ends. You'll see links to user reviews and samples at dyxum for most lenses in Minolta AF mount:

Sigma 10-20mm F4-5.6 EX DC

Sony DT 11-18mm F4.5-5.6 D

Tamron SP 11-18mm F4.5-5.6 Di II LD Aspherical IF

Sigma 12-24mm F4.5-5.6 EX Aspherical DG

Thanks! I am going for the Tamron 14 2.8 prime. sharp and enought light.

Don't need zoom...i rather cut the picture to the right size and get better sharper pics

I thought the fixed focal point lens is better, but after reading users from:

http://www.dyxum.com/lenses/results.asp?IDLensType=3

I took the Sigma 12-24 4.5-5.6 instead.

The barrel distortion is just a little bit compared to the Tamron 14 mm 2.8. Thanks again for the sites JimC.
