NOT using an extra adapter....
Someone posted this on DPReview saying you can take the mount from an A-mount lens and replace the mount on an MD lens so as not to lose infinity focus and get a bit more to work.

Have you heard of this or tried this, anybody?

Edited 07/14... I got a very informative reply in Dyxum with a guide on how to do it!

This presumes that you are lucky enough to have a manual focus MC/MD lens with the same or similar screw hole pattern as an A Mount lens.

I am not so lucky.

The screw hole pattern on my 35mm f/2.8 is too small for the A Mount, and my 50mm f/1.4 has the screws around the outside. (My 135mm f/2.8 is a Vivitar with a T4 mount so it doesn't qualify.)

But I'd be pleased to learn of sucesses anyone else has.
