Hello all,

I got as a gift a used Minolta lens for my A300. There are two small scratches (both are maybe 5 mm long and very thin) on the front of the glass element. Will this be (significantly or at all) visible in the pictures I will take with the lens?

Thanks for any advice...

The lens won't ever be able to focus on the scratches, so the scratches themselves won't ever appear in photos.

They may decrease sharpness (but, all by themselves, not by much), and increase the possibility of flare. The worst that can happen, I think, is that dirt and dust may collect in them, reducing sharpness and brightness. They may increase the possibility of fungus.
