Not sure if this is the right forum, but have sony 300 and using 2 sigma super dg500 flashes. I bought a minolta fs-1200 hot shoe adaptor to put one flash on a bracket. Once I mount the flash on the bracket, it will not function as a slave. I can remove it from the mount, hold it in my hand and it will fire. Anyone have any suggestions? I paid $60+ for the adaptor for this purpose. Thanks in advance.

Have you tried taping over the pins?

I found out why it's happening, but don't know what to do about it.
There is the tiniest button on the left recess area of the bottom of the flash. When the button is depressed, it stops the slave function. Push the button in and it doesn't work. Let go of the button and it works.

Naturally, when the flash is inserted into the shoe, the button is pushed in. Again, I don't know how I can get around this.

I looked at the stand platform that comes with the flash and there is a little recessed area on the shoe which allows the button to not be pushed in.
