Hello,

I've switched from Canon to Sony. When I turn it on it buzzes and when I turn it off it makes strange vibrating sound; something Canon did not do. I'm wondering: is this normal for Sony A 300 or is my camera defective.

Thanks in a advance for any help,

Paulina

That sounds normal. Upon power up, the camera is probably going through a CCD alignment procedure because of it's anti-shake system, and it also presets the focus on the attached lens to infinity.

Upon power off, it's doing a sensor clean procedure (shaking the dust from it).
