I have a metz 54 MZ-4i with the SCA 3302 so it works fine with my 7D. I want to try experimenting with wireless flash. Is there a transmitter that I need to send the signal to the flash? I set the camera to wireless flash, tried a bunch of settings on the flash but can't seem to get it to work. Thanks in advance for any ideas...

Was the flash mounted on the camera's hot shoe when you set up the camera for wireless flash? I can't speak for the Metz but if you were using a Minolta flash the settings are transferred from the camera to the flash when setting wrieless mode. You then detach the flashfrom the camera and raise the pop-up flash which is then used to trigger any slave flash(es).

Thank you for the explanation. Seems the Metz does work the same way as I am now able to use the wireless feature!
