New A700, fresh out of the box.

What is the amount of time needed to fully charge the Lithium-Ion Battery?

I have been through the book twice and can not find the time interval.

Found the info.

Full Charge: 235 minutes. Normal Charge: 175 minutes.

Dummy me, thinking the information would be in the owner's manual. Instead the information was in the "read this first" manual.

Somewhere in that documentation is also a note to the effect that when the light goes off on the charger, the battery is not completely charged. At this point it is only about 85-90% of full charge. Leave the battery on the charger for an additional 2 hours after the light goes off for a close to 100% charge.

Also, periodically run the battery to a fully discharged state and then charge it. By running it down you are in essence resetting/recalibrating the charge "meter" that Sony is so well known for. I put the camera into slide show mode with a 30 second interval between slides and cycle this a few times to drain the battery.
