Hello,

I just wanted to comment that if anyone is in the market for a fast prime lens and a fairly fast telephoto lens, then you may be interested in purchasing the Minolta Maxxum, 50, f1.7 and the beercan lens (Minolta Maxxum, 70-210, f4). In my opinion these lenses are great, and fairly cheap. They are better than any lens you can buy in the same price range.

Thanks.

The average price for the 50/1.7 on eBay has been around $100. KEH.com has some for $100 to $140 depending on condition.

I have both of these lens from my Minolta film days and they are what pointed me to Sony when I went DSLR.
Both are great lens however I find myself using the SAL18-250 most of the time for outdoor shots. More range and lighter than the beercan with IQ very similar.
