Default My Daughter Loves Photography

I had to work this past Saturday but my daughter and the Mrs. went to an air show. My daughter (13) took total control and wasn't letting the Mrs. anywhere near the camera (except once when she insisted to take a picture of her). She took something like 300+ pics.

I gave her a quick rundown on how to use the camera in auto mode.

Here are couple of her shots that I liked.

Looking foward to learning the ins and outs of this new hobby myself, but my daughter has a bit of jump on me...I may have to get her, her own camera so she'll let me use mine .

I know I'm biased I am her father after all but would anyone care to share their thoughts on the images? Just curious as to your thoughts, thanks.

She's got a good eye. The second and third photos are my favorites. But, you'd better watch out or you'll never get that camera away from her. Of course, you could always buy another one. :-)

Very nicely done.

You're in trouble now; she's going to want lenses.

I just noticed the symbolism of my screen name and the first image wasn't done on purpose.

Thanks, I thought so too. Not even a month has gone by and I have to start thinking of an upgrade

The second, third and last shots are very well done. I think she'll be competing with you.

Thanks for the input selvin, I'm trying to keep up with her ;-)

Took me a while to respond cause we were away on vacation at Niagra Falls. I took quite a few pictures, it is my first real outing with my camera though so I was kind'a trying to figure things out. I tried various settings, auto, auto no flash, apeture priority, shutter priority, etc...

I'll try to post some of my favorite pics tomorrow after I get a chance to upload to photobucket.

Like I said yesterday I am posting some pics from our mini vacation to Niagra Falls over the holiday weekend.

Saturday was a beautiful day and I was able to capture some nice shots from our hotel. This first pic was the view from our room. The sun hadn't set but the moon was appearing over the American water falls

With a scene like this I figured I would try a few different modes on the camera including B/W

They had fireworks a couple of nights and I tried to capture some images of it. It was a little tough especially since I don't have a tripod yet but these are 2 of my favorite fireworks shots.

We had some nice scenery with a rainbow that suddenly appeared

The nightlife was pretty cool too.

All hail the King

I'm a total noob and still barely learning my way around the camera, but I would love to hear everyone's input, critisms, and advice for better shots.

All the pics were of course taken with the kit lens' that come with the Sony a350. I used various modes as I stated in my earlier post so I could get a feel for what the different modes offer. The images are untouched except for being reduced in size when downloaded to photobucket for posting here. I plan to open an online account somewhere that will allow me to maintain the image size sometime in the future, once I get a little better at all this.
