Default a300 and CF Extreme III

Hi there,

Don't know if I should post this in the memory card section or in the sony section.

Basically: I have an a300 + a sandisk extreme III 4gb (30mb/s).
My question is the card speed optimum for the camera ?

Should be the Extreme IV (45mb/s) or the Ultra II (15mb/s) be good ?

Optimum for what. Unless you are shooting sports or wildlife when you are filling the buffer then IVs are not going to help. IIs are also fine for normal shooting. There is a change in download speeds so that is a consideration.

IIIs should still be fine. I have used them for years and still do in my Canon 1D mkIII shooting at 10fps. People generally only run into problems when they 'machine gun' a sequence which is not good practise in general. Most of us will shoot a 2-5 shot burst when covering an event so learning technique is more important to get good shots than being able to take long bursts and hoping for the best.

From tests I did a few weeks agai the A350 and an extreme II were a sweet combination when capturing a fire scene (breaking news). The card was able to keep up with the camera and my quick shooting.
