Default When will new Tamron 10-24 be available for the Sonly/Minolta mount?

I'm very interested in this lens but it doesn't seem to be available yet. I see that Nikon and Canon have their versions already.

Does anybody know when I can expect it to be instock at retailers like B&H? Is it a matter of days, weeks, or months?

Thanks,
Keith in Ottawa

I don't know. Dell shows it as in stock (which is odd, since they sometimes drop ship from distributors). I'd call them to make sure before ordering one.

Thanks for the reply Jim.

I took your advice and called Tamron USA directly. Apparently it has been shipping and is back-ordered. They're getting more in this month but not enough to clear backorder. So, I guess that when B&H says "New - coming Soon", it can also be interpreted as "sold out".

Bummer; I'm going to be in NYC next week and I'd love to pick one up.

Tamron said "more coming in, but not enough to clear out the backorder"

But their (Tamron's) backorder quantity might not equal the dealers backorder quantity. Most dealers over order (spec stock), so there may be some excess ready to be sold.

B&H is safer to say "coming soon" than trying to sell what they may or may not get in a timely manner.
