Default Travel kit samples

I was hoping to catch the fall color in the eastern sierras but we were there about 2 weeks early. The fishing was still good.

I brought my "travel kit" which consist of a KM 5D & Sony 18-250. I find this to be an excellent combo when you don't want to or can't bring a lot of photo gear along.

Here's a few samples with some high ISO shots.

1. ISO 1600, f6.3, 1/4000, 250mm

2. ISO 800, f/11, 1/160, 18mm. Notice small white rock in the middle of shot.

3. ISO 800, f/7.1, 1/320, 250mm. Same shot as #2, just zoomed in to 250mm.

Very nice shots.

But why ISO 1600 and 1/4000 shutter speed in the first one?

Ok I 'think' I know......there was no movement, that required a fast shutter...but I'd appreciate the 'experts' reasons Mr.TCav...
