I'm just talking about exposure, not focus. As JimC stated, the horse is underexposed.

You need to work on the focus issue separately though. Before doing that, you might want to change the EV to +/- 0. If you think correct exposure is difficult to obtain, you could use auto bracketing.

And then, as Jim mentioned, you might want to switch C-AF to S-AF. Try a couple of different aperture settings too.
