Default Last addition to my Minolta lenses...50mm1.7!

Hello my dear Minolta/Sony owners/fans,

Want to share with you my last added Minolta, vintage Maxxum 50mm 1,7 normal prime mint conditions lens with some examples of this very specifically example. My first time that owned a normal lens...want the faster 1,4 one...but can't be found it here in Israel. This one; much cheaper one satisfies my needs!

Peace,

Alex 007

You've got a great lens there Alex. I picked one up about 2 months ago, and I love it. I also just bought the 70-210 f4 "beercan" and it is joy to use also. If you don't have one, keep an eye out for it, it's worth having too. Great pics by the way.

I certainly agree with donp-

The older and used Minolta glass still represents quality. Its fun to search for and find some of the Minolta lenses, like the 50mm F 1.7 and the 70-210mm "beercan" lens.

Alex is looks like you picked up an excellent sample. Enjoy!

Default Thnak so much...Ask to my locally seller for a "Beercan"!

Hello to both of you, Donp & Sarah,

Ask to the seller to look forward if we'll be lucky & he will found a Beercan". He wrote my cellular/mobile number...I really hope so!

BTW...all the photos snapped with my Sony A-900 body!

Peace,

Dear TCav,

Thanks so much...Yes...I'm also very impress!. What I'm thinking just now...that the lenses for US/Canada market, "Maxxum" name on it...were very carefully selected! What you think about?

Have a nice weekend,

Peace,

Alex 007

The term 'Maxxum' was used for all of Minolta's new autofocus sytem components. To be sure, the initial product line contained some very good lenses, like the 'Beercan', and the 50/1.7 which remained in production, with the occasional facelift, right up until Sony's takeover.

BTW, the term 'Maxxum' was used in North America. In Europe and the Middle East, it was 'Dynax', and in Austrailia and East Asia, it was 'Alpha' (which is the basis for Sony's use of the term.)

Dear TCav,

Yes...exactly as you wrote...(Maxxum; NO ONLY to US...but Canada also!), Dynax as you wrote it...it's what was imported here...Alpha never I saw one here; before (Film epoch!), or now...(Under Minolta ceased brand of course!), Sony's "Alpha"...is another history I think...

Thanks so much for your usefully information,

Peace,

Alex 007
