At this point due to the repair estimates I have ben getting its worth a try to see if they will fix it. Otherwise I will be looking for another Sony body. With the way I work and the amount of photos I take I need a backup camera. The A200 has 37,000 frames on it in just under a year and the A700 already has 3,000 frames.

I packed in the smallest box it would fit in and bubble wrapped it well.

dave-

Occasionally, Sony A-200 cameras do turn up on E-Bay. I picked up one for $350 there.

Sorry I don't trust e-bay. Had a few friends that got burned.

For cameras, I'd be very wary, but for lenses it's a great source.

They have a recourse, though it is limited if the vendor is outside the country. If the vast majority of transactions were not satisfactory, then no one would use eBay.

Yesterday I recieved an e-mail stating that Sony had recieved my camera and would be looking at it. They would also be sending me periodical updates as service progressed.

Tonight I went on line to see if they had any update listed and it stated at 4pm Texas time the item was being shipped back to me.

Does that mean it was fixed? Not repaired and simply returned to me.

Never got a call from them.....

Any ideas. If I learn anything else I will let you all know
