i can hardly wait to get mine ... to take some photos of people from far away ... birds and some abstract photos too ! :P

I have used this lens over a number of years, since Maxxum film days, almost exclusively for bird photography, even hand-held on a pitching boat. Some people do not like the out of focus donuts that sometimes occur in the background with mirror lenses, but it has never been a problem for me, and the benefits of a good one like the Minolta/Sony far outweigh any shortcomings it might have. Another thing that should be considered is the fact that longer mirror lenses usually focus much closer than most refracting lenses of equivalent focal lengths (this one does), and are useful as closeup lenses without getting too close to the subject. They also have small apertures (usually f/8, like this one), but with digital, low light shooting can be less of a problem than it was with film.

Wow those are great photos ... really and the thing is i have an a350 so it seems that it takes really good shots with this lens ! thanks again and i hope i'll be updating some photos on my own soon :P
