Default Hot Shoe Flash For A200

Can someone point me in the direction of a hot shoe flash that will work on the Sony A200/A350/A700 cameras. I tired searching at bhphotovideo etc and can't get anything concrete. I had a Sunpack SuoerAuto flash for my old Fuji S9100 that I sold because ot could not be used on the Sony voltage and connector wise. I really loved that flash. Would like to get something like that.

Thanks in advance for the help and happy holidays to everyone.

Hoping to be able to do this for under $250

Hey Dave.

I just finished answering a similar question (someone with a Sony dSLR looking for a flash on a tight budget). See this thread:

P.S.

If you were using something like a Sunpak 383 Super, that can work via an adapter. I included a link to one in the other thread. You do need to be careful of trigger voltage going that route. It's best to stay with a flash using a lower trigger voltage (although the newer adapters claim to have voltage protection built in, I'm not so sure I trust that). Most newer flash models are fine (including models like the Sunpak 383 Super). With older flash models, it's best to measure them if you go that route. See this thread:

Trigger Voltage Limits with Modern Digital Cameras

I've got a couple of Sunpaks that I use that way (via a hotshoe adapter). But, you may be better off with a dedicated flash unit that's aware of your camera settings. I mentioned some in the other thread:
