Good deal. And...welcome to Steve's..I noticed I am the only one you have had contact with. There are, believe it or not, a lot of very knowledgeable folks that participate here, so please be one of them, and post pictures and enjoy this site, I think you'll find it very informative and fun, too..

Let me know how this turns out for you..

Don't throw it yet! I once had a mobile phone that would not turn off,,,then after removing the battery and replacing it, it would not turn on. When it finally DID turn on, it would not turn back off, so I said "Darn" (or something like that), and threw the phone into a weight bench, breaking it into twenty pieces. I had insurance, so I put it in a zip-lock bag and returned it for a new one. I would never do my flash that way.

I'm not 100% on this, but if your lights work with the A100, they should work with the new one..

i would have thought so too!
Have spent the arvo playing, and nooooo, aint giving me the love, the lights are firing, but not at the right time on auto, and if i change the speed or the apeture, it wont let me use the flash at all, or the same prob happens with the external attached

You might post over in the external flash forum, where other light users may have some input. I've never used any lighting other than an external flash, so I'm at a loss..Have you talked to Sony support? Might be worth a shot...
