Default My used minolta 100-300mm APO is here.

I did a few test shots today. What a great lens. It really is a true APO. Image #5 was made at 300mm with a 1.4x teleconverter. I paid $229.00 for this used but new condition gem from Ebay.

Very nice! Congratulations. That's a great lens at a great price.

Can you post some 100% crops to go with them? (See Why a resized photo is no use in showing camera quality)

Also, whose TC did you use? It also appears to be very good.

Here is a 100% crop of a handheld shot at 300mm, ISO 400. NO post processing of any kind.

Default Here"s Another

This 100% crop was shot at 300mm @f6.3, using Iso100. Tripod was employed.

Also, excellent. In all respects, as good as anything I've seen from Sony's 70-300 'G'.

Could you take the time to post a 100% crop from a shot you took with the 100-300 APO and your 1.4X TC?

Default A couple of 100% crop with the 1.4x

These were done with available light and manual focus. MF used as the auto focus will not work with the TC due to smallest apurture being f4.5.

I'm including two images which are also 100% crops that have been sharpened. The same setup was used. The battery checks in as a 6X lifesize image.

Very nice. That's better than I would have expected with a TC. My Quantaray 2X TC was pretty bad, and I never really got to play with my 1.4 and 1.5 TCs.

I was really surprised when I could barely discern the tiniest bit of C.A. when using the T.C.. A 100% crop is a very severe test of C.A..
