Default Close, Closer, Closest

Shopping around for a macro lens I had decided that the Tamron 90 f/2.8 was one for me.

Then I came across a Minolta 100mm f/2.8D that has hardly been used by the original owner. I couldn't say no.

I would still recommend the Tamron. It's a great lens at a great price.

Some macro

Very impressive! That's a nice lens, and it seems you're having fun with it.

Congrats. If I were looking for a Macro lens, that's the one I'd choose, as I've seen a lot of very nice images taken by a Minolta 100mm f/2.8, and your images are superb.

The used lens market is such an asset for Sony Alpha owners. I like to see people taking advantage of it.

TCav
Macro is a lot of fun but not as easy as you might think. Small apertures, slow shutter speeds and wind makes for quite the challenge.
The used Minolta lens market is a great asset for Sony owners. Hopefully Sony will go in the right direction with their SLR market or there will be a flood of used lenses on the market.

Superb? Wow thanks!
Thanks for reassuring my choice. The Tamron was a little less expensive and new but I have always wanted that(Minolta) lens. Your review of lenses have steered me into my 100 & 28 f/2 lenses. Both are superb lenses so your reply about this lens is reassuring.
